Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau still names the South Beach district in Miami Beach as the heart of the local LGBTQ scene. Twist sits on Washington Avenue next to the 11th Street Diner; Palace is a block east on Ocean Drive. Lust programmes the after-dark room at Wanderlust (1200 Washington). Diva Royale’s ticketed drag show is further north at Revenge, 1532 Washington. The LGBT Visitor Center is in Old City Hall at 1130 Washington Avenue. This is the easiest first evening and the densest walkable cluster in this census.
A few blocks north of the Washington Avenue strip, Hotel Gaythering occupies a 1958 MiMo building at 1409 Lincoln Road. Its public bar posts a weekly queer programme, and the official site also names a men-only wellness sauna in the same building. GMCVB lists the hotel as the destination’s gay hotel. Lincoln Road is a pedestrian street — treat this as a second evening, not a continuation of Ocean Drive.
Wynwood’s public queer inventory in this census is still R House, a restaurant and drag-brunch room at 2727 NW 2nd Avenue. It is not a gay-bar strip. Gramps (Double Stubble) and Willy’s Neighborhood Bar closed; do not walk to those old addresses. Plan R House as its own outing from South Beach — across the Venetian or MacArthur Causeway, then north into the arts district. Wynwood Pride takes over the neighbourhood in June when the organiser posts a current year.
Downtown is not a gay-bar strip. The public queer inventory here is The Corner at 1035 N. Miami Avenue, a mixed late-night bar whose own calendar hosts Dyke Nite and other queer parties. Treat it as a mainland last-call or sapphic-night stop, not a replacement for South Beach.
Azucar Nightclub is the mainland Latin LGBTQ+ dance room at 2301 SW 32nd Avenue, west of Little Havana and not far from Coral Gables. It is a Thursday–Sunday club, not a casual hangout and not on Calle Ocho. Plan a dedicated rideshare; this is not a South Beach bar crawl add-on.
Little River / Miami’s Upper East Side holds SUPERNATURAL haus, a private club and creative studio at 777 NE 79th Street. New Times listed it among the city’s current queer rooms in June 2026. It is event- and membership-led, not a walk-up gay bar. Confirm the night on the official RSVP page before you go.
Calle Ocho between SW 13th Court and SW 17th Avenue is the historic street of Gay8, the Hispanic/Latino LGBTQ festival GMCVB still names. The official Gay8 site describes the route and Domino Park programming but does not currently post a dated 2027 edition. This is a daytime festival street when it runs, not a permanent gay-bar strip. Azucar is west of here on Coral Way — do not conflate the two.
GMCVB names the LGBTQ beach between 11th and 12th streets on Ocean Drive, beside Lummus Park and the Beachwalk, as a longtime gathering place. Miami Beach Pride’s festival uses Lummus Park; the parade runs Ocean Drive from 5th to 14th Street. This is a daytime orientation area, not a nightlife strip.

A Washington Avenue gay bar and nightclub with its own site, seven rooms, and a posted “never a cover” policy. The about page places it next to the 11th Street Diner and two blocks from the 12th Street gay beach — the easiest first evening in this census.
An Ocean Drive LGBTQ+ bar and restaurant that opened in February 1988, moved from 1200 to 1052 Ocean Drive in July 2017, and still posts drag brunch and nightly shows on its own site. GMCVB lists the drag programme as a South Beach staple.
The public visitor desk in historic Old City Hall, sponsored by the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and listed by GMCVB as the first stop for LGBTQ travelers. It is a visitor-information room, not a bar.
The oceanfront between 11th and 12th streets that GMCVB still names as Miami Beach’s LGBTQ beach, beside Lummus Park. Pride’s festival uses the park; Winter Party’s beach party has used the same sands. It is a public beach, not a venue with a door.

Wanderlust Cafe & Lounge is a first-party Washington Avenue cafe that posts all-day hours at 1200 Washington. After dark the same room runs as Lust, with bingo, karaoke, a Drag Race watch, and weekend nightlife that Miami New Times listed among the city’s current gay bars in June 2026. This census lists it as a mixed cafe and lounge with a regular queer night programme, not as a dedicated gay bar.

Official 2027 registration pages now date the festival Saturday 10 April and Sunday 11 April 2027 at Lummus Park, and the parade Sunday 11 April 2027 at 12:00 along Ocean Drive from 5th to 14th Street. South Florida’s queer film festival, a d/b/a of the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. The official about page dates the 2026 Fall Edition 15–25 October, with OUTshine At Home 26 October–1 November. Screenings span Miami-Dade and Broward — confirm the current Miami rooms on outshinefilm.com. The Spring 2026 edition (23 April–3 May) is complete.
The National LGBTQ Task Force’s Miami Beach festival. The official site and Task Force release dated the 33rd edition 26 February–2 March 2026; that edition is complete. GMCVB lists 5–8 March 2027, but winterparty.com still featured the 2026 edition when this census was checked. Dates stay awaiting official confirmation on the organiser site. Aqua Foundation for Women’s historic South Florida celebration for LGBTQ+ women. The official events page still describes Aqua Girl and last billed a 27 April 2024 cruise partnership.
